CONRATULATIONS TO SUE UNDERWOOD
LOCAL 1268 WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD RECIPIENT 2008!!!!

Every year, the Local 1268 Women’s Committee acknowledges one of our
female members with the UAW Local 1268 Woman of the Year Award. This
award is meant to celebrate the often forgotten contributions that women
make to not only our Local, but to the UAW movement as a whole. These
women often donate untold hours to the Union and often with community
based volunteer activities. They have distinguished themselves
throughout their Union years in the areas of involvement and dedication.
Sue Underwood is the Women’s Committee 2008 award recipient. In 1978,
after only attaining a few months seniority with Chrysler, Sue was
noticed by her Chief Steward (Jerry Zepplin) and Committeeman (Jon
Byers) as having that “special something” and asked her if she was
interested in becoming involved with the Local. After some
consideration, she choose to start with the Education Committee. From
then on , Sue knew she had found a place in her Local. Her experience
and dedication includes:

Conventions

UAW Chrysler Department Jack Laskowski, on May 2,1997 (Sue is now
serving her 11th year as Benefit Rep.)
