E.A.P. (Employee Assistance Program)
(Chrysler Employees)
What is the EAP?
The EAP Program Concentrates on the whole person. Problems that
adversely affect your personal well-being and job performance are the
focus of the EAP.
What problems can the EAP help me with?
The program can help you with, but is not limited to:
· Emotional and psychological problems.
· Alcohol and other drug dependencies.
· Gambling and spending.
· Legal and financial concerns.
· Family and marital pressures, etc.
What Services can I expect?
You can receive:
· Information on a range of issues.
· Professional assessment and referrals for specialized treatment.
· On-going and follow-up support.
· Crisis Intervention.
Whom do I see to get information or enter the program?
You see your EAP Representative. Your supervisor or Union Rep. can put
you in touch with the EAP Rep. If you wish, or you can contact Cale
directly at 815-547-2340. His office is located on the 2nd floor of the
Neon Center. This program is completely voluntary (unless it is job
conditional) and 100% confidential. Cale cannot share your information
unless you request for it to be shared with a specific party.
Participation and Cost
Who can use EAP services?
EAP services are available to all UAW-represented Chrysler employees,
their eligible dependents and spouses. The program is designed to
address the needs of the entire family.
How do I get started in the EAP?
You can start by:
· Seeking help on your own. You are encouraged to see your EAP
Representative whenever you have difficulty coping with a personal
problem.
· Informal referral by a co-worker, union rep., or family member.
· Supervisor/Union representative referral; this is appropriate when
personal problems become job performance problems.
What will the EAP cost me?
The EAP is an employee benefit. It’s services are available free of
charge. When outside resources are needed to help resolve problems, Cale
will assist you in securing professional services that are covered by
your health insurance in most cases. However, there may be times when
fees for expanded services or extended services are not entirely
covered. In this instance, payment would be your responsibility.
Confidentiality and Job Security
Who will know I am using EAP services?
When an employee comes to the EAP Representative on his/her own, or
referred by a supervisor/Union Rep., no one but the parties involved
will know. No information will be released to anyone unless the employee
authorizes the release in writing.
What happens to my job if I seek help through EAP?
Nothing, as long as you meet existing job performance standards and
established work rules.
***If you think you are experiencing any sort of issues that you cannot
handle yourself, you are encouraged to contact the EAP Representative.
Again, his name is Cale Steins and he is located on the 2nd floor of the
Neon Center. If you need to contact him by phone, his direct line is
815-547-2340. Cale is a Union brother and holds all confidentiality to
the utmost of importance.
